If you are in the Raleigh area, you may call the Wildlife Welfare Information Hot Line for a listing of rehabbers in the area: 387-1662.
You may also call the North Carolina Wildlife Commission at 919-707-0050, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. After those hours you can try North Carolina Wildlife Enforcement at 919-707-0040 or 1-800-662-7137, give the dispatcher the city you are calling from, the type of animal you have and they can give you a listing of rehabbers in your area.

If you are in the Raleigh area and cannot find a licensed wildlife rehabilitator to take the injured/orphaned baby you have found, you can also drop it off at After Hours Small Animal Emergency Clinic of Wake County. Link will open in a new window.
They are open weekdays from 5:30pm until 8:00am the following morning, on weekends from Friday at 5:30pm until the following Monday at 8:00am and on holidays when the regular veterinarian offices are closed. They are located at 409 Vick Avenue in Raleigh and their phone number is 781-5145 if you need to call for directions.
You can drop off the baby/babies that you have found there no charge to you and they will call a list of licensed wildlife rehabilitators that they have and someone will come and pick them up.
