1998 Baby Photos Page 3

Here are some more baby pictures from this year. I thank the people that contributed these pictures. Even though this is a squirrel page, as rehabbers we are not just limited to squirrels, so you may see some other baby pictures besides squirrels on here. Please give the pictures time to load they are worth the wait.

ringtail
This is an adult male Ringtail, captured raiding the dog food and dog biscuits in the kitchen of a house being remodeled in Paradise, California. One wall of the house had been demolished, and only a tarp covered that side while they remodled, and of course, this little guy had easy access. The family dog had cornered him in the kitchen.

Sue, one of the Squirrel Connections, kept him caged for 3 weeks while the remodeling was completed and then she took him back and released him. This photo was taken just after he was put in the travel kennel on the release sight.

Crackers
This is Crackers. His picture was sent in by the Ohio Squirrel Connection. Crackers is 10 weeks old in this picture. He is a fox squirrel and was found by a lady who wanted to raise him. The Ohio Connection convienced her to let her drive 1 1/2 hours one way to go and pick him up. He was just 2 days away from opening his eyes when she got him.

Crackers
Here is Crackers at 12 weeks of age. Looks like he is ready to take off, but paused to get his picture taken. Just to note that Crackers was kept in a very large indoor cage in the squirrel room most of the time. The only way real good pictures could be taken of him was to bring him out of the cage and let you see his size in comparison to things that everyone might understand the size of.

Crackers
Well here is Crackers at 14 weeks of age and he is almost 2 pounds and his length is 24 inches. This is the last time he could be weighed cause he had outgrown the scales. He is now in the outdoor release pen getting acclimated to the weather. Crackers has company in his release pen and his name is Dude. The Ohio Connection had Crackers a total of just under 12 weeks.

Dude
This is Dude when he was just 4 1/2 weeks old. He is the one that is now in the release pen with Crackers. Dude was found on a sidewalk in Utica, Ohio. The lady called the Ohio Connection after getting her name from a local vet. They checked for a nest and one could not be located. Even though he is a little younger than Crackers, they are getting along great.

spacemonster
This is a 7 week old baby red or Piney squirrel in this picture. This was the only chance that the Ohio Connection had to get a picture of him as the are lightning fast. He was found at Dennison University by a professor there. He kept him for about a month and then they located the Ohio Connection thru another person and she got him. He was ready to head out to the release pen at 11 weeks of age. They do mature faster than the Grey's or Fox squirrels.

patsquirrel

This is a new picture sent in by the South Carolina Squirrel Connection. These are 2 Eastern Grey Squirrel babies enjoying themselves on a tree.
