Here are some more baby pictures from this year. I thank the people that contributed these pictures. Even though this is a squirrel page, as rehabbers we are not just limited to squirrels, so you may see some other baby pictures besides squirrels on here. Please give the pictures time to load they are worth the wait.

opossum

This is the Virginia Opossum. I know that a lot of people think they are ugly creatures, but if you ever see a baby you would fall in love immediately. You still love them when they grow up and you love them all the more when you are able to release them back into the wild.

2possum

Here are 2 opossum being released. Looks like the one on the inside is trying to figure out how the other one got out. The one on the outside looks like he is trying to figure out how he got there too :-)

black bear
These pictures came from a rehabber in Oregon, these are baby black bears. She got them in March and they weighed about 3 1/2 pounds each. They are named "Winnie" and "Pooh". Pooh is the black bear and Winnie is the cinnamon brown colored one. The are now weighing in at 18 pounds for Winnie and 17 pounds for Pooh and are about 4 months of age.

The ones that work with them now have to wear long pants and long sleeves to keep the scratches, bites and bruises to a minimum as they are getting very rough. Everyone is enjoying working with them and are learning to be quicker than the bears. They will be released, if all goes well, when they are about 18 months old.
