| Many thanks to Sally, the Squirrel Connection in Massachusetts, for sharing these photos of a baby mink that she got in. This baby was found screaming its head off by a stream. He was left for a few hours in case the mom would return, but she did not. When Sally got him he was fully hydrated and still had mom's milk in his stomach. She suspects the mom was moving the babies and got interrupted. He was about 12 days old and weighed 38 grams when she got him in and he is very vocal and has an ATTITUDE! He does not like to be stimulated to go to the bathroom and he will not let you sleep through a feeding. He has a very high pitched peeping scream, a sound that will definately get your attention. Sally said that she only hopes when he gets a little older that he remembers that she is the one that fed him because she envisions him trying to kill her face when she goes to feed him when he gets older. |

Many thanks to Jane Schnelker, a licensed rehabber in Ohio, for sharing this photo. These two were found in a junkyard, curled up beside their dead mother. One was a 3 day old white kitten, the other was a 3 week old fox squirrel. The mother was a cat! Both are doing well - they were raised together until eyes opened on the squirrel at which point she put him in with another fox squirrel who was admitted. |

Many thanks to Jane Schnelker, a licensed rehabber in Ohio, for sharing this photo. Jane says she has gotten in 4 of these black, or partially black, grey squirrels so far this season. All have had normal grey siblings. Notice the color of the tail of the one on the right. |
